CARE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Use rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth to clean the strings after every use. This makes the strings last a lot longer and sustain better.

  2. Use a soft damp cloth to wipe down the finish and hardware and dry immediately with a soft dry cloth after each use. (Cotton non-printed T-shirts work well for soft clothes.)

  3. Minor scratches can be polished out with a very fine polishing compound such as “3M’s Finesse-it II” or equivalent.

  4. Dunlop Formula 65 guitar polish/cleaner and Dunlop Guitar Carnauba Wax also works very well after cleaning and polishing for a brilliant luster and protection.

  5. “Circuit board safe” electrical cleaner can be used to clean the electronics if ever needed. (just be sure it says “Safe for Circuit Boards”)

  6. Rubbing alcohol on a Q-Tip can also be used to clean the output jack.

  7. Once or twice a year remove the strings and clean the fretboard with and damp soft cloth followed by a dry soft cloth. Once the fretboard is completely dry, apply a small amount of mineral oil (baby oil) to the fretboard and rub it into the wood. Let it soak for a couple minutes and then wipe off the mineral oil with a dry soft cloth. The fretboard may continue to bleed oil for a short while. This protects and preserves the wood and gives the fretboard a beautiful appearance. Re-string and tune the instrument immediately after finished. Don’t leave the instrument un-strung for long periods of time.

Waterstone Guitars in the LA Times.

"The bald and bespectacled Paul "Renetto" Robinett, doing his best full-throated impersonation of Eddie Vedder, strums his way through "Amazing Grace" on a beautiful, custom-made guitar."
