CARE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
- Use rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth to clean the strings after every use. This makes the strings last a lot longer and sustain better.
- Use a soft damp cloth to wipe down the finish and hardware and dry immediately with a soft dry cloth after each use. (Cotton non-printed T-shirts work well for soft clothes.)
- Minor scratches can be polished out with a very fine polishing compound such as “3M’s Finesse-it II” or equivalent.
- Dunlop Formula 65 guitar polish/cleaner and Dunlop Guitar Carnauba Wax also works very well after cleaning and polishing for a brilliant luster and protection.
- “Circuit board safe” electrical cleaner can be used to clean the electronics if ever needed. (just be sure it says “Safe for Circuit Boards”)
- Rubbing alcohol on a Q-Tip can also be used to clean the output jack.
- Once or twice a year remove the strings and clean the fretboard with and damp soft cloth followed by a dry soft cloth. Once the fretboard is completely dry, apply a small amount of mineral oil (baby oil) to the fretboard and rub it into the wood. Let it soak for a couple minutes and then wipe off the mineral oil with a dry soft cloth. The fretboard may continue to bleed oil for a short while. This protects and preserves the wood and gives the fretboard a beautiful appearance. Re-string and tune the instrument immediately after finished. Don’t leave the instrument un-strung for long periods of time.
